As we grow up, we are more worried about calories than fat. We have heard about the low fat and low carb myths. By the way, Carb is the short for carbohydrates. In fact you should be worried about both. We must have a healthy diet and not just consume any junk food. You should be getting your calories from foods that are good for you. Have you tried going on a low fat low carb diet? Some belief consuming fats is the real reason why people are over weight. However i belief that Carbs is the real culprit. Are these the 2 evils in our food supply? How many people in the world eat bread? Everyone of us eat some kind of bread.
Bread for some people is their staple meal. In the olden times, women spend their day making bread. In some countries, people eat pasta and pizzas. Asians eat rice and noodles everyday. The Irish have their potatoes daily too. These are all carbs.
Many people consume carb each and everyday. I eat so much bread and other carbs that I don’t know what I would do without them. Adding a spare tire around my waste line. Have you ever tried going on a low carb or no carb diet? Do you feel a little week very soon? I am not saying carb is totally bad. I mean, fat has its problems too. You eat too much of it, you are getting yourself ready for a heart attack. Your body is not able to handle so much of it. We have all seen young men getting heart attacks at a young age. So, at least that tells us that fat is bad.
Not all fats are good, though some are good and some may be bad. There are different kinds of fat. Some items that are lower in saturated fat, examples are the meats and cheeses. They don’t have as much fat as other items. On the other hand, you have items that are more saturated than meats and cheese. These items include, donuts, french fries, potato chips.
They are what you need to stay away from. These are high in calories or cholesterols and will clog your arteries. I hate to say it, but the good stuff in life has its risks. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t ever eat these items, but have them if you must, in moderation. This is the secret in a healthy diet. Don’t have them every day, but once per week. Don’t munch on a whole bag of chips. Instead, get a small bag that is enough for one or two servings. By doing this, you will not be tempted to finish the whole bag.
Oils such as olive oil are low in saturated fats. You should use these when ever you can. However, you should only use a little of oil. By investing in a non stick cookware, you will use less oil while cooking, benefiting in many ways . If you get a good cookware, you may not have to use any oil at all. I think that you should watch your caloric intake as well as your fat. I would say that they should go hand in hand. I would pay close attention to how much carb you are eating each day. They are a good source of energy, but you will feel burnt out if you have too much of it. I think you know what I am talking about. You feel like you need a nap all the time.
Health risks are alway associated with a high fat diet. The risk of diabetes and heart disease is high. They will also induce cancer problems if not controlled properly. Another problem associating with high fat diet is skin problem. It does not give you a good skin complexion.
Please do not think that you should cut out all of the fat in your diet. You can have some fat in moderation, but just don’t go licking a block of lard as a refreshing snack on a hot summer day.
Got something to say?
