Have you measured your body-mass index - BMI Body Fat? Even when you have a normal body-mass index, BMI, you may still be Fat.
BMI Body Fat may soon be the latest measurement for “normal weight obesity”. The definition of obesity is having excess fat. However, is it possible to have a normal weight and still have excess fat?
Studies have shown from a group of 2,200 men and women of normal weight and BMI between 18.6 and 24.8 , almost 50% have excess BMI Body Fat. 20% of total composition BMI Body Fat for men and 30% of total composition BMI Body Fat for women.
When individuals have high BMI Body Fat, it shows that they may have the same cardiovascular issues, just like for obese people.
You may soon have to measure BMI Body Fat and not just BMI. Is there a difference between BMI and Body Fat percentage?
These are 2 ways of “measuring” how fat a person is, however, Body Fat percentage is a more useful method as it differentiates between the weight of fat and your lean body mass including your bones, organs, muscles and internal tissues.
If you want to slim down, you should use Body Fat percentage as an effective means to gauge the slimming progress. The ideal measurement for a healthy women is 32 % to 35 %.
